What is the JBL Micro Mini?

JBL Micro Wireless is a very good, very portable Bluetooth speaker. At just 3.3 inches in diameter and 1.6 inches thick, and weighing just 4.5 ounces, it’s small enough to fit in a large pocket.

I personally travel a lot and I can tell you that this is truly one of "Men's best friends".

It fits right into the small pocket compartment in my bag and easy to carry around! It doesn't take up too much weight (and I like to travel light) and in fact, I have found that when carrying this..I have no more worries about my needs for good audio in which ever hotel room I will be staying at. (Needless to say, I am a person that really appreciates good audio, especially when I sleep)

It goes the same with business too. Everytime when I start a presentation, tho I have very good impressive slides..the issue was always with the audio (especially when playing a video). The JBL did an impressive job in making my presentations more dynamic - packing a punch to drive a needed point straight home!
I am a fan of Jazz music - and when playing smooth jazz tracks from my all time favorite Kenny G album, the audio projected comes out excellently, giving me fell audibility of small tiny details, especially on the drums and technical styles.

I also happen to love Trance and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and when playing DJ Fresh and Dj Tiesto, the music comes out in full fidelity and the bass output is seriously impressive for such a speaker of it's size!
To put it simply: It's a tiny David with the projecting strength of a giant!
The bluetooth range is also not bad! I love to take my music everywhere with with me - especially at the bathroom! I just love to hear the sound of smooth jazz or ambient when bathing (especially after a long tiring day) and I can do just that now! My relax timeout are never the same now!

The Product

The JBL Micro Mini features silver accents with black buttons. Along the perimeter of the speaker, you’ll find a 1/8-inch (3.5mm) auxiliary-output jack (more on that in a moment), a power/pairing button, a good-old-fashioned volume dial, and a Micro-USB port. You use that last in tandem with the included USB cable for charging the the Micro Wireless. JBL says you’ll need two hours to charge the speaker, and that you should expect up to five hours of playback time on a full charge. I frequently got even longer battery life. (I can confirm on this)

Just behind the speaker grill, near the top of the Micro, sits a single, multipurpose LED. That LED indicates when the unit is pairing, charging, or plugged in, as well as when the battery level gets low.

On the underside of the Micro Wireless, nestled tightly, is a 1/8-inch miniplug with a 10.5-inch cable that wraps snugly inside a thin groove around the edge of the speaker. You can connect that plug to the headphone jack of any device to listen sans Bluetooth.

The auxiliary-output jack on the side of the Micro Wireless isn’t your typical output—it doesn’t mute the Micro Wireless’s own speaker when you connect a cable. Connect the built-in cable on one Micro unit to the aux-out jack on another, and your music plays through both. In fact, you can connect as many Micros as you want by chaining cable to jack. You won’t get a true stereo effect—each connected Micro will continue to play in mono—but you will get an increase in volume, as well as the capability to point each speaker in a different direction to increase your “coverage.”

Overall

The Micro Wireless is impressive: It offers a whole lot of sound packed into a tiny, attractive package—and the price is pretty amazing, too. Between its Bluetooth and auxiliary-input options, extreme portability, and more-than-adequate audio, it’s an attractive option for budget-conscious customers.
